AFCON 2023: Troost-Ekong and Zaidu Sanusi ruled out of Super Eagles Vs Guinea-Bissau

Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong has been ruled out of Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Group A clash with Guinea-Bissau.

Troost-Ekong, sustained a hamstring injury in Nigeria’s 1-0 victory against hosts Cote d’Ivoire last week Thursday after scoring the winning goal for Nigeria in the keenly contested encounter.

The PAOK Salonica of Greece player could be replaced in the starting line-up by Kenneth Omeruo by coach Jose Peseiro

FC Porto Left-back Zaidu Sanusi is also ruled out of the game after missing training on Sunday.

The Porto defender also sustained an injury in the victory over the Elephants.

The Super Eagles will take on the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Monday, January 22.
