Workers across Nasarawa State joined the two-day warning strike declared by the organized Labour union, paralyzing official activities on Tuesday.

The banking industry, state secretariat, and judicial sector have all been grounded, causing inconvenience for those seeking court attention.

At the federal secretariat, security personnel were the only visible presence, guarding against potential unrest amid the strike.

Major banks in the state remained closed as the Labour union strictly monitored compliance.

The Nasarawa State NLC Chairman, Ismaila Okoh led union officials around the city of Lafia to enforce the strike while urging both state and federal governments to initiate relief measures for workers grappling with increased hardship due to fuel subsidy removal.

Students from both the state and the Federal University in Lafia voiced concern over the effect of the strike on their studies, calling for urgent resolutions to minimize disruption of academics.

To avoid any uncertainties, security measures were heightened across Lafia and key locations in the state as the strike commenced.

DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Nasarawa Police Public Relations Officer, assured residents of a peaceful environment during the nationwide strike, urging them to report any suspicious activities to security agencies for prompt intervention.
